An oxygen delivery system that is able to support mass casualties
MGS has developed and manufactured a medical oxygen delivery system with the capability of delivering medical oxygen to support mass casualties. The MPU300, developed with the cooperation of the Ambulance Service, combines all the benefits of lightweight, carbon wrapped, high pressure cylinders in to a system capable of supplying medical oxygen to up to 50 casualties at 8 litres per minute for 30 minutes. Oxygen is delivered through a series of hoses and multi-flow therapy heads via a simple control panel mounted on a trolley connected to four high pressure cylinders. The MPU300 has additional features such as simple low level monitoring, automatic changeover from empty to full cylinders without interrupting the supply of medical oxygen to casualties, and can be deployed in position by a single operator. Originally conceived to be used in the event of a major CBRN incident, the MPU300 has proven to be the core oxygen supply when dealing with major incidents and has been used to treat casualties at the scene of multiple road accidents, fires in retirement homes and chemical leaks in swimming baths. The potential and the benefits of the MPU300 are becoming more apparent as the system can also be used as an emergency oxygen supply either in hospitals or temporary treatment centres set up in the event of an epidemic, contagious diseases or flu pandemic.
