DuPont™ Climate Systems offer a breakthrough solution for energy energy-efficiency in building design, with the added benefits of a reduction in the carbon footprint and a more comfortable indoor climate year round.
    
The system consists of Tyvek® Enercor® metallised breather membranes for roofs and walls, which combine high reflectivity (low emissivity surfaces) with superior moisture diffusion capacity, and DuPont™ AirGuard®, a highly reflective metallised vapour control layer with an even lower emissivity of approximately 5 per cent.
    
The materials are designed to work together with traditional insulation products to create an air-tight building envelope, providing excellent protection against external weather conditions and internal thermal losses - and offering energy savings of up to 15 per cent. Tyvek® Enercor® also blocks up to 85 per cent of radiant heat in summer, while DuPont™ AirGuard® reflects back up to 90 per cent of internal heat in winter.
    
Both materials have superior strength and durability, a further benefit in the drive toward sustainability – and a practical bonus on any construction or renovation project.
    
In terms of moisture management, the DuPont™ AirGuard® vapour control layer protects against water penetration from the interior into the building envelope, while the vapour-open yet air and water-tight, Tyvek® Enercor® layer allows any condensation that might have formed during construction to evaporate.             
This sophisticated, yet easy to install technology ensures the insulation remains dry and effective - while also reducing heat transfer and improving energy performance.
