Kaba helps trust improve energy efficiency

ImageWorking closely with West Suffolk Hospital Trust, Kaba Door Systems has recently completed installations to the main entrance as part of the Trusts initiative to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions.

Kaba installed automatic sliding doors to the main entrance of the hospital to provide fast, reliable access for users.  Following this successful installation, the hospital also commissioned an Air-Gate system for the new doors.  Kaba’s revolutionary new Air-Gate operates differently from conventional air curtain systems which permanently blow hot or cold air. Air-Gate is only activated when the door is opened and uses air at room temperature using 80 per cent less energy.

Paul Bradley, Facilities Directorate said “We are delighted with Kaba’s installations.  The hospital is an extremely busy environment with high volumes of traffic which include wheelchair users and it is imperative that we have easy, reliable access.”

Kaba understands that safe, reliable access control requires appropriate maintenance for it to continue operating effectively and to maximum efficiency. These costs can be a large expense and with many facilities now supporting a greater number and variety of access control applications over multiple sites, there has never been a higher need for an experienced, professional partner to ensure all internal and external doors are properly maintained and working within relevant safety and operating legislation.

Kaba Door Systems dedicated Key Accounts team realises the importance for a reliable local service and the significant impact Planned Preventative Maintenance Programmes (PPM) can have on operating and total life costs.

PPM will anticipate the wear, tear and changes of all site doors and continuous monitoring ensures peak efficiency and minimises deterioration. Kaba’s PPM programmes give our customers a dedicated single point of contact, door schedules detailing type, age and operating lifetime, asset registers and asset aging, door spend reports, maintenance and renewal costing for budget consideration and consolidated payment plans. Kaba also includes free safety assessments following incidents involving a door and records are updated following every site visit.

Strategically positioned offices guarantee a fast response by local engineers for all maintenance, repair, service and emergency needs, ensuring peace of mind 24hrs a day, 365 days year. Engineers are able to maintain and repair any type of automatic, industrial or commercial door system and are trained to industry standards.

Kaba is a member of the Automatic Door Suppliers Association (ADSA) and is NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency (PASA Contract No. CM/FMM/04/2419/05) approved.
