Inject new life into your ICT systems with Rocom
The recently announced GP Systems of Choice scheme involves the provision of funding for GP clinical IT systems. The scheme enables practices and primary care trusts (PCTs) to invest in a range of ICT equipment utilising a one-off government contribution of £80m. However, PCTs will still retain responsibility for the ongoing upgrade and management of equipment so it is essential that maintenance and associated ongoing costs are minimised by the technology deployed. With this requirement in mind, the AT Communications Group supplies ICT products that not only reduce long-term costs but have other benefits designed to enhance productivity. For example, an out of the box prescription printer from Brother (HL-7050N) eliminates the need for prescription printing adaptors. It includes universal paper trays to handle both prescriptions and general correspondence, reduces print cost per page by up to 30 per cent and with more than 80 per cent of UK doctor’s surgeries currently using Brother printers, they are widely regarded as the most economical printers to maintain, reducing long term costs and delivering greater return on investement. Additionally, its PIN-protected ‘secure printing’ facility safeguards sensitive data such as patient records. Furthermore, Doro UK has launched a hygiene friendly easy-clean telephone that is ideally suited for healthcare environments because of its polygenic coating which is designed to eliminate the spread of germs and reduce cross contamination. An important consideration given that a typical handsets has 500 times more bacteria than the average toilet seat.* Headsets are another growth area for PCT users. These are ideal for busy surgeries because they free up the users hands to carry out other tasks whilst on the phone. And a wireless headset can deliver even more benefits by enabling users to move around freely up to 100 metres from the base station. This means fewer calls go unanswered and less voicemail messages are left - making practices more efficient. The AT Communications Group has recently added Valcom to its product portfolio, whose public address speaker systems are recognised as one of the easiest and most cost effective solutions available. They are also the only speakers systems designed specifically to operate on existing telephone cable, therefore reducing costs and power consumption. The AT Communications Group has one of the largest telecoms portfolios in the industry (over 400 pages) with a wide selection suited to the healthcare market.
