Keeping track of your vulnerable patients
 Active Tagging Ltd specialises in ultra-long range active RFID tagging solutions that are used both for tracking vulnerable patients but also assets.
The patient tracking system utilises a small one milliwatt radio device worn around the ankle of a newborn baby or the wrist of a child or adult. It helps prevent patient abduction or general patient wondering.
It works by sending a signal every second to a receiver network which gives the general position of the patient. It also has an anti-tamper function so even if they attempt to remove the tag, it will alarm.
The information is then sent to an administration PC where the patient movements can be monitored or alarms triggered if they go into a potential danger area or attempt to remove the tag. Door locks can also be linked into the system.
The Xtag system is already in many hospitals throughout the UK and worldwide. It has successfully stopped the abduction of an infant from a hospital in France.
