About OPM
OPM works to create a positive impact on public services and to achieve improved social results. As an independent public interest company, we help organisations that want to make a greater social impact and respond to change. We work with clients across public services and specialise in providing innovative services in consultancy, people development and research.

ImageOur members have wide experience in leadership and management development, organisational and policy development, evaluation, research and public and stakeholder engagement. Strong project management, user engagement and use of evidence underpin all our work. As leading thinkers about the future of public services, we publish our ideas and invest in public interest activities.

Founded in 1989 as an independent, not-for-profit centre, OPM is now owned by its members through an employee share ownership trust.

OPM and executive coaching
At times in their careers, senior managers may benefit from the support and challenge offered by an external coach. For senior public service managers who want to improve their effectiveness, executive coaching provides a time-effective way to stand back from day-to-day pressures and reflect on their personal and organisational strategies. It also offers managers the chance to develop new skills and insights within a well-informed and completely confidential relationship.

At OPM we provide individual coaching to a number of chief executives and other senior managers in health services, local and central government, policing, probation, the prison service, education, housing and regulation. This work is always undertaken by a senior consultant who has extensive experience in both coaching and the relevant field. Most of our coaches are also accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management, and licensed users of a range of psychometric instruments.
