Waste and Resources – optimising value, ensuring compliance, safeguarding reputation
WRc is an Independent Centre of Excellence for Innovation and Growth working in the water, waste and resources, environment and energy sectors. In WRc’s 90 year history we have supported regulators, governmental organisations, industry and utilities.
Our Resource Efficiency Team works with waste producers, waste treatment facility operators, including energy from waste generators, and their supply chains.
Combining the expertise of chemists, toxicologists, consultants and our in-house laboratory, our ‘waste doctors’ help clients understand the characteristics of their wastes and how to recover value from them. We undertake feedstock and residue characterisation, waste hazardous property assessments, environmental risk assessments for the use of recovered materials, lab trials and audits. We support clients’ “zero waste to landfill” or other resource recovery goals as they aim to maintain materials in circulation. We also provide independent, robust evidence that has credibility with the regulators.
WRc provides solutions to challenging or new technical issues to enable our clients to provide innovative, safe, efficient services while reducing costs and attaining their sustainability goals.
