Four more appointments of experts to the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD) have been made. These are: Professor Karen Ersche, Professor Sunjeev Kamboj, Doctor Lorna Nisbet, and Jon Privett. The council provides advice and government recommendations on the harms caused by drugs.

Professor Ersche is Professor of Addiction Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge, and Professor Kamboj is Professor of Translational Clinical Psychology at the Research Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology at University College London.

Doctor Nisbet is Senior Lecturer at the Leverhulme Research Centre for Forensic Science at the University of Dundee. Jon Privett’s expertise as a witness in drug trafficking with the Metropolitan Police secured his position with the ACMD.

The appointments have been made in accordance with the Governance Code on Public Appointments.
